What is moving median filter? How does it work and what's the algorithm behind it?

Hi, I am doing research paper for my uni studies and I came across the term "moving median filter". Tried to google the meaning and the algorithm behind it but everything fails. Would apprepriate if somebody could explain to me what is moving median filter and how does it work. Would be great if they could include the link to their informations. Many thanks!
