Making a tactile alphabet chart?

What an awesome idea. I can't give you all the help you need, but I hope this will help a little. Can you do something with a plastic Easter egg for E even though it's food? how about an X out of any type of material and relate it to X marks the spot like on a treasure map? how about a picture (photograph) of the family for P? can you utilize velcro in some way for V?
